How this table works

The timing signals of our market timing models are based on computer-based formulas that attempt to identify periods when the potential for gains in the markets is higher than that for losses, and vice versa.
Therefore our trading systems switch our investments back and forth between a specific asset class and a 100% Cash investment.

So each of our trading system switches between:
  • 100% investment in the underlying asset class
(e.g.: US Stocks in the case of our "US stock market" trading system)
So the specific trading system indicates that the prices of the underlying market should rise and therefore it puts our money in the relevant asset class.

    and

  • 100% Cash investment
(e.g.: US three month treasury bills or a US money market fund in the case of our "US stock market" trading system).
A switch to "100% Cash" indicates that the underlying market (e.g.: US stocks) should have no significant upside potential.
In order to preserve our capital the trading system moves our money into a cash position on the sidelines.
The intention is to reduce risk by getting us out of the way of severe bear markets and market crashes.
